recently I got a used Trans from 1995 with 50000 miles on it! It has the old style 1-2 accumulator from aluminum! The wearing of the bore wall is visible and I can feel the grooves with my fingertips!
Is this enough to make the piston leaking or can I switch to the new rubber style accumulator and everything is fine? I heard it is a little wider so sealing is better!
If I have to repair it what do you think about this kit?

You can use scotch brite pads to smooth the bores out then just use the rubber accumulator. Just make sure you keep it clean. There is alot of aode/4r70w info on www.tccoa.com under tech then tranny.

symptoms are: very late 1-2 shift or no 1-2 shift,A shudder on the 1-2 shift!
Does anyone have the tolerances for the bore diameter?
