I noticed my trans has a kickdown cable, but it is already as far up as it can on on the adjuster. I am putting a manual in it soon but for now I wish it would downshift a little easier.
AOD kickdown cable, can it be adjusted????

It is not really a kickdown cable like on the old c-4s and such. Where on the old c-4s shifts are controlled by a vacuum line from the manifold to the trans the AODs are controlled by the TV cable(the kickdown cable you see). The transmission shifts off of throttle position vs vacuum. If you screw up the TV adjustment it can do some serious damage to an AOD.

Thank you for your help but I'm just going to do the conversion ASAP. The tranny in this one was rebuilt once due to the TV cable going bad.

Its not hard to set the TV cable, and if the cable is adjusted properly the trans will be much better.
