Hi folks,
I'm hoping to get some guidance/opinions on my 89 5.0 w/ aod issues.
I bought the car as an unfinished project in summer 09.
There was alot into the car including recent transmission overhaul.
I was told that there was a B&M Transpak kit put in, and that the rearend was redone w/3:73 set .
The throttle kickdown cable was not hooked up when I got it.
The previous owner ran it that way for roadtests etc as he never registered the car after re-assembling.
I hooked up the cable and adjusted to specs but cant seem to get the shift that I want.
In drive the car shifts from 1st to 3rd missing 2nd entirely. It will kick down into 2nd when you stomp on the throttle though.
If I shift manually via the AOD shuffle I get 2nd but the 2-3 shift is sloppy unless I let off the throttle.
I thought maybe the gear ratio switch may have thrown of a sensor telling the car that its going to fast for 2nd thus the missed gear??
Any avise would be greatly appreciated...I have had a transmission shop play w/the throttle pressure settings w/ little or no change
