The clutch fork is a pretty sturdy piece of metal , It should be ok as long as it is not obviously bent or distorted , just make sure it has the retaining clips for the pivot ball and TOB .

The starter index plate is a thin piece of metal that goes in between the block and bellhousing , Summitt has them .

The Scatter shield is the bellhousing .

The pivot ball looks like a bolt with a rounded top that screws into the bellhousing on the inside . The end of the clutch fork clips onto it and and allows it to pivot back and forth on the bearing retainer . If you get a used bellhousing it should be in there , if not let me know I got one laying around .

TOB is a Throw-Out Bearing

Here is a link to the pivot ball:

AOD to T-5 swap

You will need a new crossmember and rear trans mount. the back up light harness is no longer available through Ford. You will have to wire it yourself, only two wires.
The spacer plate between the block and flywheel is different from an automatic and a stick. They are not expensive. The speedo gear assy should be the same so save that.

I am doing the same conversion on my Stang. Just take your time and get all the parts you need first. Do one step at a time, pedal assembly, remove console and auto shifter and locking cable. Then tackle the bottom end.

Good Luck!!:SNSign:

I would just go get all the major parts first, i got mine off ebay. Transmission, bellhousing, etc... Crossmember and tranny mount from the auto will work-regardless of what many people say. I used the same ones and it worked fine. I bought my flywheel at summit racing-$99. Just about every bolt you can get from a parts store such as lowes, except for the pressure plate bolts, you will have to get them from a dealer. The clutch fork is the same as a 4cyl- i got mine from autozone. If you have at least a little idea of what your doing, it is very easy once you get started.

That, my friend, is a false statement. The AOD crossmember & the t5 are different.

However, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, and say that the AOD crossmember can be modified (fairly easily) to work with the t5.

The AOD mounts farther back on the crossmember than the t5 does, so you'll have to grind off the welds where the crossmemeber meets the bushing tube things so you can slide the crossmember forward to align properly.

Also, you need a different slip yoke for your driveshaft. The driveshafts themselves are the same length, but the AOD uses a different yoke than the t5 does.

You need one pivot ball, and no-adjustable one. No need for that IMO with what you are setting up. It is just screw in...

Check 50resto again for the starter index plates...I would assume it has it?

The transmission will have the driven gear in it...

Depends on what gears you have...
