I am wondering if anyone with an AOD 5.0 can help me. I am in the process of replacing the valve cover gaskets on my '90 5.0 with AOD. I am reading the service manual regarding disconnecting the TV linkage from the throttle body grommet, and it mentions that the car must be put into neutral and take a flathead screwdriver and put it between the cable and the throttle body linkage and pry it out of the grommet. The procedure in the manual is for adjusting the TV linkage, which I am not looking to adjust.
Do I really need to put the trans in neutral before disconnecting the TV linkage, or can I just leave it in park?
