AOD wars

OK im getting down to which transmission Im going to buy. Ive already decided on a AOD TCI. Now which one should I get the lockup type or non-lockup type.
I really dont know what would be better for my street/strip setup. Will it pickup better on the freeway with a non lockup type. I think thats mostly what I want...nice response on higher Rpms without lag from the tranny.
any suggestions or info would be appreciated...

I am not sure if it applies to an AOD like it does a chevy tranny. But with the chevy trannies, you can have the lockup because their tranny comes with a switch pitch stall. But you need the adapter to run it. It needs something to tell it when to "lockup"

Lockups are for economy, non-locks are for performance. A gross oversimplification but basically that's the deal.

DEFINITELY get the solid one peice shaft! The stock ones have been know to break under extreme use with a stock 5.0, that is the part that lead to the AOD getting a bad rep for so long.
