AODE fluid change needed after 14K miles?

I purchased a 1995 Gt vert last summer with low miles (48,000) from the original old man owner. It was well taken care of, completely stock down to the air silencer. It had the typical low throttle shudder/slip in 2nd/3rd gear, so I had the trans fluid flushed and refilled with Mercon V. This completely eliminated the shudder.
The car now has a little over 62,000, and it's shuddering again. The fluid is still clean red looking, and doesn't smell burnt. The shuddering only occurs under light to medium throttle, when I get on it and give it over half throttle it shifts perfectly and doesn't shudder/slip at all.
Do you think if I had the fluid flushed/changed again it would take care of the problem? 14,000 miles seems kinda soon to have to change it again.
Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks, Glen

The MV is a blend and is quite acceptable to use in AODE's (it helps with calibration involving shudder issues).

The question I might ask: are the additives in MV perishable? Said another way, do they get used up? I'd almost wonder if you can toss a bottle of Lubeguard in (that's what guys add to Mercon to make it perform more like MV, as I recall) to see if it helps. If it does, you might surmise that a fluid change is in order (the additives were used up in your lMV fluid).

That'd be my line of thinking anyhow. I suppose we should find out for sure that adding Lubeguard to MV is acceptable first..............

Is the fluid staying at decent temps?

Good luck.

I'm running Mercon V in my AODE/4R70W tranny as instructed by Don Lasota, if anybody would know it would be him. :)

It is a tad pricey when you have to buy 11-14qts of it, I think it came out to around $60 or so.

A tranny cooler is an excellent upgrade as well.

I change my tranny fluid/filter about every 10k.

Its probably the clutches for the tq converter....this is a common problem.
I don't think its the fluid. The fluid may have helped for a little I guess.

Jerry also recommends and condones the use of MV in his articles. If either he or Don told me eating poop would make my car faster, I'd do it. Both guys are awesome!

Thanks for all the ideas guys. I cleaned my MAF about 6 months ago to try and track down the warm weather pinging, I'll try that again to see if it changes anything.
One other thing I've noticed, is when it starts to shudder, if I tap the brake pedal, the shuddering stop immediately. I'm thinking it has something to do with the lockup feature of the AODE. I'm considering installing 4:10 gears and a chip from Lasota to control shift points and torque converter lockup soon, I'm curious if the chip will solve my problem.
I love this car, but the trans shuddering at part throttle is sure taking the fun out of driving it.:bang:

Definetally, it is the torque lockup 100%. The brake disengages it.
