Ijust bought a BONE STOCK (BELIEVE IT) '95 GT that has been babied, but has high mileage.

I have owned 6 carb. and efi 5.0's, but this is my 1st aode.

Im wondering about the electronics of my tranny, since it is elec. controlled, if I buy a chip, does the chip maker also adjust my shift points?

Is there a good chip out there that may have the switch chip ability for race and street like Kenne Bell has for the Buick's?

Thanx for all replies

Yes. Not only shift points, but line pressure, converter lock-up, and pretty much every feature can be adjusted electronically.

I think that SCT has something to that effect. www.superchipscustom.com

I have a custom chip from JMS. I have 3 settings to choose from including a NOS setting with retarded timing. I believe it was about $320 when i bought it. I am very pleased with the performance and the customer service they offered. My shift points were out of wack when I installed 4.10's but they have corrected that. I would give them a call about your particular situation (sorry I don't have their # handy but they are on the web) and see what they can do.

If you get the TwEECer, you can do all that, plus change your Fan settings, rev limiter (great if you have high gears) and other basics. If you upgrade the engine, and go with larger injectors, you can use the TwEECer for that too, instead of changing the MAM...

Not to hijack this thread, but I have a 94 GT w/ AODE. Would I be able to fix my described problem with a tweecer?

Ever since I have owned the car, once in a while (when I got wot), the car will have for a second or two at 5,400 RPM and then suddenly shift into second and then start going again.
