AODE Shifting Problems

My AODE in my 95 GT Vert is shifting abnormally. I just got it back together after replacing an EPCS.

When you launch and shift, instead of shifting right away it slips for a second, RPM's are soaring, and than it finally engages into second and goes.

The same thing happens with the 2-3 shift.

When you're rolling and you floor it, the trans slips with RPM's near 5500, stays there for a second, and than engages and goes.

What's going on? It has a Transgo Shift Kit, 3000 Stall Converter, and 4.10 gears.

i think your car is not being able to shift because its hitting the rev limiter. mine does that too. most people get a chip to change the rev and shift points.

You are right, it was because of the rev limiter. I downgraded to 3.55's for 1/4 mile trap speed reasons, and that helped a LOT.

Finally, I ditched the AODE all together and went with a 5spd. One of the best mods ever!
