Ok, I searched and everyone seems to have pieced together kits with random single piece questions. I'm finally sick of my AODE after going through a few of them and doing the T5 swap. Well a local guy just bought a wrecked 94 GT with a 5 speed he's going to sell me everything out of........ What is a complete list of everything I need to make this as simple as possible and also so I don't wind up with parts I don't need from him. So far I have

-Transmission
-Bellhousing
-Bellhousing bolts
-Bellhousing dowel pins
-Pressure Plate
-Pressure Plate bolts
-Flywheel
-Flywheel bolts
-Pilot bearing
-T/O bearing
-Clutch
-Clutch Dust plate
-Clutch cable
-Pedal assembly
-Upper/Lower shift boots
-Manual ECU

are the aode and t5 harnesses the same or do I have to modify the aode harness? In that case, I'd probably just want to get the t5 harness from the guy too. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

the harness's are different, get the t5 harness.it'll plug right in at the passanger side firewall.

dont bother trying to remove the pilot bearing, get a new one along with a new t/o bearing.

the aode driveshaft has a dampener on the slip yoke,i'd get the driveshaft from the the t5 car,but it's not absolutly nesessary, you can use the aode driveshaft with the t5 if you want to.

the tranny crossmembers are the same, you can reuse your.

change the tranny fluid, and the output seal,if it's leaking.

oh,dont forget a clutch alignment tool,if you dont have one already.also a flywheel wrench.you'll need it to keep it from moving while you torque it down.

thats all i can think of right now.

If not mentioned, a block plate is needed.

If you need to reuse your AODE harness, post up and we can post some info on rewiring it and sourcing a back-up light switch connector.

If you need new pressure plate dowels, you can get them from Ford Racing as a kit with new bolts (or from Ford piecemeal). There are 3 of them.

If you have gears, I'd consider swapping the speedo drive gear on your trans to a 7 tooth. Grab a new speedo gear (the auto ones are longer as I recall). The swap is easy with the trans out of the car.

Good luck.

IIRC, the block dowels are the same for the Auto and manual. If so, you should be able to reuse your old ones.....

Yeah, totally spaced the block plate, he's got that set aside already as well as most everything else. What does the T5 harness look like? He was pretty confused when I brought it up, and honestly, I haven't been up under my dash to know that either. He'll get it for me, he just needs to know what I'm talking about and how to get it out.
