I have been putting this off and anlready fried one torque converter.. dont want to do it again...

I have called jet performance and they said that their chips do nothing to help out the gear change.

Please let me know some other companies that can help me.

Why do you need a chip with the 3.73. They don't need a chip. Only 4.10s do. I don't think it was gears fault that the TC went on you.

And what does THAT have to do with "frying your TC"?

Why does 4.10's need a chip but not 3.73s?

Cause you will hit the rev limiter I believe.

If you want a "tuning device" (vs a chip) and you have AODE, the TwEECer is the way to go

Here is what happens - the EEC commands the tranny to shift - but since the tranny is a mechanical/hydraulic part, the shifts can't happen instantly. The EEC is programmed to command the shift anticipating the delay in the shift being completed. With a stock Mustang vs. a Mustang with gears, the time for the stock Mustang to do this is always slower than a Mustang with gears. That's because the Mustang with gears revs a lot faster. If you do additional mods to make more power, it will rev even faster and the problem will just get worse. You are usually OK with 3.55's, most people, but not all have problems with 3.73's and usually all people hit the limiter with 4.10's. A shift kit will speed up the mechanical/hydraulic process and help but the best answer is to get a chip to 'fix' the shift points.

With gears the part throttle shift points and converter lockup is also changed - you may not notice this, but it IS happening.

We do chips for cars all the time to fix this. A TwEECer will work for this to some extent - but in the higher HP applications there are a number of tranny controls that are not available in the TwEECer software to prevent this from happening.

Finally someone who understands what I am going through.

For thoughs that have 3.73's i have a fully build AODE w/ a very hard shifting valve body.. not a shift kit, it has been physically upgraded. You prob wont feal this with the stock aode. But the part throttle shifting and lockup and unbearable and bogging the ***** out of the car when it shift and drops to 700 rpm in traffic.

I will be ordering a chip now asap from the guy above... he accualy knows what my problem is.

Well, it's not that other people aren't trying to help, its just that there is some confusion about why your torque converter is going out. Do you have an aftermarket converter? If so, or you have other modifications done to your tranny, do you have an aftermarket tranny cooler? Heat is what junks things in the transmission. Also, I don't understand why your tranny is downshifting at weird intervals like that. The only thing a custom chip is going to do for you is prevent you from hitting the rev-limiter by having the EEC send the message to your tranny to shift earlier under WOT.

i just ordered a chip from dan at Lasota. He said we are able to keep the TQ unlocked through any gear that I want, as well as moving the shift points around.

I always thank everyone for there responses. I have been searching for this fix and other chip places for a while. No on else's software can have the TQ unlocked at all times in 1,2,3.

That is how I want my car to run.. and I will be putting a new tranny cooler in even though I think I have one already.

People kept telling me that I needed to get a chip after 4.10s, and I'd like to say... THEY WERE ALL WRONG, lol.

I have yet to hit the rev limiter at WOT, you'll be fine dude, you don't need one.
