April 19th is Dyno Day for me!!! I have some questions

Well this will be MY first trip to the dyno... My car has been there a couple of times, but before i bought it.
Can someone give me a step by step what happens there?
Is there anything, other than my car and money, that i need to bring with me? (3 hour drive)
What kind of numbers do YOU think i will be seeing? i think all of my mods are up to date in my sig...

Oh BTW, im having it tuned in Mt clemens MI at alternative auto By Lidio

Bring tools, timing light, extra blower belt, and good gas if you run it.

As far as what happens...you just roll her on in and strap it down....I would get some cool down time so as not to run at full temp if that matters to you...
All your really gonna do is run up to 4th and around 3200 or so you pin it and see what gives...
First time I let the tuner drive and I turned the wrench's....2nd time I went I drove....Just remember to slip it into neutral when they give a shout at the redline you choose, it just free-wheels from there...Kinda freaky the first time... The tuner will give you the skinny on whats going down....As the RPMs came to 3200 my tuner gave me 3 taps on the shoulder, the 3rd tap meant pin it til my choosen redline...
I had my timing at 10 on my first time out...we did timing pulls first....if the AFR looks ok then you'll continue with them to find the most power...once thats good you tweak the AFR for more if possible...First time we did 8 pulls to tune it....2nd time I went I added some stuff and tuned it at home...it was dead nuts on 2 runs...nothing to touch...
Generally if the fuel looks ok your good to go...if its way lean on the first run they shut you down and adjust from there...If they hear alot of detonation they'll shut you down and tweak the timing...

We brought in a SC Cobra for a SC chip burn and that was real sweet....SC software tracks everything that going on....MAF, inj pulse, all kinds of chit...you can really see what going on..and then tweak the numbers from there...cool stuff...
All the times I ran with the stock puter it was only timing and fuel you can really play with...

Having Lidio tune it....

You might as well be prepared...stuff Eades mentioned is just good to have...Your on the clock when your there so hunting for chit cost ya....I pd 80.00 for an hours time a few yrs back...me wrenching got 8 pulls in then I called it quits...
I brought a timing light, Allen for the Kirban, dizzy tooling, and a rachet/extensions for the plugs..The more you do while your there instead of them, the more runs if your paying for the dyno time...
Last time I went was 3 pulls for 45.00.

Another question....

drive it there or tow it up there?
its about a 3 hour drive from here to mt clemens MI and i dont know if its better to drive or tow? do things go wrong on the dyno alot? blown head gaskets and what not? i dont want to get stuck in MI without a ride

If you can afford the towing bill tow it there and drive it back. But it may be cheaper to drive it there and maybe save the $$ incase you have to tow it back.

well, i am drivin it......... leaving in about 4 hours.... so i can get up there at about 8am.... eek!!!

oh i also have a very sparatic miss or hesitation when i am cruising....it only happens when the car isnt under load but a steady cruise.... any guesses? will the tune take care of that?

Well, i finally got tuned at alterative auto performance in mt clemens michigan by Lidio.... Something isnt right...
i made 404.4 rwhp and 396 tq at 10.9 psi + methanol injection not to mention ported TW heads, wolverine 1190 cam, a cam almost exactly like the TFS stage 1, and a ported upper and lower cobra intake.... (plus the rest of the stuff in my sig)

here is the sheet:

In the a/f ratio you can see at about 3300 rpms where the methanol inj kicks in and the a/f starts going down to 12.5

Timing was set at 12* and the BTM is at .5
Fuel pressure is the one thing that bothers me.... with the vac tube off, my pressure gauge read 56#'s shouldnt that be around 40??

if i turn that down to 40 now, after the tune will it make me go way lean?

Why is my car peaking at 404 hp and 396 tq??

now it also has a hanging idle issue when decelerating and what feels like a miss while cruising under no load (that goes away as soon as i accelerate even the slightest bit)

needless to say i was dissappointed.... Lidio said that cars comparable to mine should easily make 425-450 easily
