Are all Modular Hydroboosters and M/Cs the same?

I figured no one would know better than you guys. I am retrofitting an LS1 into an 84 BMW 318i with 99 M Roadster brakes and I have no room for a conventional vacuum assisted brake booster. I just learned about your cool hydroboost systems and I was wondering if there is a difference between the units from all of the different models. If they are different, which one is the best for a 12.75" rotor on all four corners with big single piston calipers?

I know this isn't directly a Ford question, but I would greatly appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this for me.

Thanks

Well, I would say the point is roughly the same as the whole pony car concept to begin with. High performance V8 + small nimble platform =

Anyway, thanks for the tips, I am checking them out now.

Derek- I like your thinkin. How much room do you expect to have shoe-horning that motor in there? Must be tight!! Is it a stock LS1? What tranny are you using?

You would be surprised at how much room is in there. I used a dry sump oil pan and put the engine really low in the chassis which exacerbates an already tight situation for the brakes and headers. I think the overall gain in vehicle dynamics will be worth the additional effort though.

The LS1 is stock except for the headers and dry sump oiling. I plan to get more creative in the engine once I have it up and going and get used to the power level it will have to begin with. I am using a T56 trans.

The pic below shows the mockup motor in position and its relation to the MC area.

Hell Derek,

I'm interested in finding out how that project turns out- keep me informed! Sounds awesome. Maybe more room can be had w/ a front coil over setup if it dosn't already have it.
