Ive been pricing em lately, and found that powerdyne is a lot cheaper than the other super chargers, for the same 9 psi setup...are they a good brand, also, does anyone reccomend a brand/model that would be good for my stock engine? basically im deciding to go with eaitehr heads/intake, etc setup or a supercharger on a stock motor. I gotta be able to beat my friends DAMN 99' z28 Crapmaro...im so mad, anyway, any ideas?

The cheaper one I would pass on. You will never see 9psi out of it even with an 11 psi pulley. I believe it's a 700 cfm blower. Now the XB version is nice but it's as expensive as a Vortech. Look for a Vortech in the classifieds. Most are not happy with the Powerdynes. The relocating of parts is a pain in the ass too. Vortech is a direct bolt on.

Dont take the cheap way out and get a powerdyne. It will be a waste of money and you will regret it. Many people on this board have had them and dont like them. A Vortech S-trim or KB 1500 would be a much better idea and are both great blowers.

I just bought a used PD - it works well for what it is...with the money I'm now invested in it (there were some parts missing, and getting parts from PD are VERY expensive - so I ended up spending another $500 or so just getting some small parts I didn't know were missing), I should have just gone with a new blower kit.
I'm seeing right at 8lbs of boost on the dyno at 5500rpms...but the little blower pretty much maxed out at that - any more boost and I hear they start breaking internal belts. Also - it's just too quiet for me (can't even hear it) - but I don't drive it daily.

If I could do it over or if I was buying new - I wouldn't have considered the PD..I'd probably go KB or Vortech and would consider the Procharger. Just depends on your driving and what you want out of your combo as they are all very good blowers.

As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. If you want to go with a cheaper route go ahead, but you will probably have alot of headaches. For the money that i would have spent on a PD i would rather go with a H/C/I combo, and some LT's. Then later you can add a blower and gain more from it than you would on a stock motor.

the LS1's are a lot faster than a 5.0 stock for stock. But you probably paid less than a third of the price he paid for his car. You can get your car to be as fast but give it some time.
