Correctly that is. I bought a Ford Motorsport SVO RPM Preformer intake off of ebay...MISTAKE 1. Now with all of the other little issues, the dam intake does not fit correctly..its almost like its to small. I have matched up the part no#'s and it says its for a 351..part # M-9424-C858

Is there anyway to make it fit ? Or do I need to buy another ???

Thanx in advance.

how much to small, is it a 302 intake, or does it just need a thicker gasket, or are you guessing because it looks to small withour the gaskets in place

Yes. my preformer 351 intake fits nice and smooth without the gaskets. This one has a very noticable gap.

i think the performer is a 289 that fits 302 also....it should say "Performer 289" on it...

unless its one of the ones made for a 302 with EGR or whatever....

What deck height windsor do you have? There are 9.2 and 9.5 deck windsors, and I've occasionally seen intakes that specify for which deck height/heads that they are designed for.

If it's used, some one may have milled it to fit an engine with milled heads.

1.) So the intake doesn't sit flush with the block? Or 2.) the intake doesn't contact the heads?

Latamud its no# 2. But problem solved now. Yes it was a deck hieght issue. My new block is 9.5, where this is a 9.2 intake. Also it had some work done, so it may have been that to. Oh well live and learn. Thats what I get for trying to save a few pennies and getting it from Ebay

The intake does look good, and after speaking to some people, I had a way to make it fit. But I was truly fed up with the whole thing, so I went and bought myself a stealth and called it day. Just as good if not better than the RPM in performance, also I think the stealth looks a lot better

Got some good pics, and now the project is moving foward nicely. Just need to put the balancer, waterpump, and the acc brackets on now. Hope to have it down in the car on weds.
