Starting to get kinda pissed off. Started off just trying to change my clutch and then I end up taking out the longtube headers...while attempting to get the EGR tube off, I managed to break off both threads coming out of the TB adapter and the corner of the adapter. This is after letting the bolt soak for 4 hours and heating it with a torch.

So the LTs are still on and I'm out a TB adapter. :bang: :bang: :bang:

On a related note, after the one bolt is out of steering shaft, how do I seperate the shaft?

soooo pissed.

Did you loosen the rack-to-K bolts and slide the rack forward? Seems to me I had to do that last time...............
Good luck.

once the bolt is out, the top half of the shaft should slide out with minimal force.

Exactly. There's a groove in the bottom of the steering shaft for the bolt - it's designed to keep the steering shaft from sliding out if the bolt comes loose. Remove the bolt completely, and the steering shaft will come right out.

still no luck. I have a feeling I'm doing something wrong...The first picture shows the bolt I took out, the second is a slightly better picture of the shaft....I need to know if this is the right bolt or not...

Thanks guys

Looks like the right bolt. Pry apart the metal a little; there should be a split in the metal, which the bolt was holding shut.

Alright...looks like I just need to get on it a little more then...I've been breaking things lately so I've been a bit hesitant...Thanks for the assistance...I'll get it loose tomorrow

ok guys...starting to lose my mind.

first of all, that steering shaft does not want to budge. anyone ever had it seized on or something? I can't really get anything in there to pry it off either...

second, and more importantly right now, the bolt that holds the starter to the bellhousing will not move. at all. and now it's pretty much stripped. can you take the bellhousing off with this screw still in it? I feel like I'm screwed and have nowhere to go.
