No it's pretty good but it's a sunroof car. I'd have to cut the whole roof off to fix what I need... body filler is looking good bout now...

Aaaand... after I lined junior out sanding I built a new starter cable to replace the one that melted and welded itself to my crossover pipe the other night. Not sure why the factory made that wire hot and put a relay for the exciter on the fender well.. That will be changed for sure... Hopefully the heat shield will work.. as soon as i fix a few bugs I'm going to pull the crossover and wrap it in header tape like I just did my downpipe. .

I think that, that is one that I've not heard. I know of many (including me) that have had hard starting problems when warm. Half of those were tired starters while the other half were tired wires and grounds. I would imagine (though I don't know obviously) that your wiring was in poor shape or even your current grounds.

I saw you mentioned a heat shield. Are you shielding from exhaust? Mine has eaten a starter or two. lol

My '86 GT had a sunroof over which the previous owner had spray painted.

A bottle of Aircraft Remover cured that. I loved that sunroof.

Y'all should just clear coat over the patina. It'll be like those old unibody trucks.

Naw man.. my starter cable (that was wired to be constantly hot like a chevy) made contact with my uberhot turbo piping. The heat melted the insulation and the energized cable arced out on the piping. Im wiring it differently so the relay energizes the cable on starting only to avoid the catastrophe I had. I was stranded with a dead batt and my powerwindows down with rain coming... not good.

Yeah... I've had a few and they're not all that. My turbo car is sunroof. It's nice in really fair weather, but here in summer it gets really hot in the car, even with a/c.

Thought I'd throw a pic er two of the calypso up.. just took her out for a few 110 mph 3rd gear jaunts. Got a firing issue under boost I'm trying to sort out. If I ever get this thing 100 percent it's gonna be a freaking beast..
