First Question- I have a set of domed forged pistons with floating pins laying around and want to use them instead of the hyper pistons which are on my stock rods and they are pressed on. How would I go about doing this. I don't know if the forged piston can be pressed or not, would I have to get new rods or what?

Second Question- I have been reading on how to check piston to valve clearance with the clay method and it says not to use hydraulic lifters when checking instead use solid lifters. But the hydraulic roller lifters are longer then the solid lifter, so is there a certaint solid lifter to use? Thanks for any help you can provide.

O.K. I think I have the connecting rod situation figured out. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to use different rods cause the ones I have right now are pressed on and I have no way of finding out if the pistons can be pressed on.

But I'm still uncertain about what solid lifter to use for checking the piston to valve clearance, because the roller lifters are longer then solid lifters, unless I'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure the roller blocks have longer lifter bores for the roller lifters.

Anyone have any ideas?
