I haven't been on this forum since selling my 89 LX Notch about, oh, 2 years ago if memory serves me right.
Dagger told me to get on these forums more and I figured why not. So what have I been doing automotive wise the past 2 yrs. Well I went a totally different direction, I bought a Jeep and not a Wrangler either. Here's some pics of it:

Had lots of fun with this thing until, I got a lil too crazy and took some water down the throttle body. Water doesn't like to compress.

So I'm out of a Jeep for now, I'm parting the truck out. Once that's done, I'm starting another Jeep project, a YJ this time. I'll be around these forums researching a Torque Monster 302 based motor which will one day live between the YJ's fenders.

Anyhow hope you like the pics!

Seriously!

I also can't even tell you what the hell you broke, but whatever it is, it looks bad. Did you hydro-lock?

Dagger got it. #1 connecting rod broke and took out the oil pan.
The basic story is I went through some deep water and stalled the truck out. Did the cap, rotor and plugs the next day got it barely running. Replaced the IAT sensor and TPS, she ran like a charm. Changed the oil and the trans fuild. However the top end now had a tick and I could hear a lil rod knock.
Fast forward to a week later at Midnight, I'm driving home on the hwy from the girl friend's place when 'BANG' she lets go.

I had planned to fix it but to do that the way I want would cost more then just buying a YJ and starting over. So I decided to part her out.

The Cherokee was made till 01 with with a solid front axle.
The Grand Cherokees had solid front axles till the 04 model year. The 05 and up is independent.

What's up Nick? Long time.

For anyone that cares, since the Jeep is dead I'm now driving a Civic, don't worry it is and always will be stock. Not worth it to attempt and make it quick.

I've got a ton of pics from the past year of me and friends that I can post if anyone is interested. Plus I can also post my YJ build plans too.
