It's back in my possession, and it's at a guys shop that specializes in Mustang collision, and he gave me an estimate of less than half of what the insurance adjuster quoted. He fixes worse Mustangs than that all the time.

On another good note, this whole thing re-ignited my love affair with my 68. I've driven my 68 this summer more than I have since it was my daily driver. Just rebuilt a Holley 780 to replace the Edelbrock 600 that was on it and the difference feels like a motor swap. It's a blast!

Glad it's working out. I know I'm the new guy around here but reading what fivepointNO said was BS. There was no need for that. I know everyone has off days but get real. Have some compassion. Glad you are going to try to get her fixed.

Thats cool. I'm glad you have been able to enjoy your 68 more. I bet it really is nice to have the GT back.

So sorry to hear about this, I feel for you and understand what your going through.

A fair few years back I spent 5 years restoring a Classic Mini. I had my Daily driver, a Mini Cooper S Works (1998) and the Mini I'd restored. It had won 12 concours events in the year I'd been driving it. Then one nice summers day I take it out, webasto roof open, windows open, chillis playing on the amazing sound system I'd built. Then a two week old Jaguar pulled out of a side road without looking, hit my rear quarter sending me in a spin. I tried to correct and in the process had to avoid a truck/crane and thus hit the curb and rolled 4 times. I was lucky to be alive, but all I cared about was the car. It took me years to get over it and I still feel it when I think about it today. I made it feel better (or at least a little bit better) by spending the insurance money on a Mini I'd always wanted. A 1966 Mk1 Morris Mini Cooper.

Now it's fixed I hope it's better than ever. It sounds like it was knock for knock (nobody's fault/both party's fault) Good to hear your enjoying your classic.

Too many of those driven by incompetent idiots that think that they are cool driving a big truck, even though it belongs to their boss. They get over confident and end up driving beyond their ability, lets face it, a driving license isn't hard to get in Texas!!!! I wonder if they lost their job?
