hey guys

I'm looking at a 95 5.0 car with a Intercooled P1SC ATI Procharger @11psi... Apparently the guy said they tend to leak oil a lot, and had to take it off once and send it to ATI to have it fixed..? I was surprised to hear this, since all I've heard about ATI is good stuff... Anyone know anything? Got recommendations/experiences?

THanks

Wat up diablo! How ya' liking that new '94 GT you picked up? Wow ... already looking at another one? You're keeping the stable stocked, lol.

Anyway, I have no personal experience with the ATI stuff .... but I've never really heard anything bad about them.

But apparently Ben has, lol.

ATI is right down the road and an engineer for them admins on a local board. he acknowledges the fact that they did have pretty bad leak issues, but he states the newer models are alot better.

soooo, if it's an older head unit i would try and trade it for a newer one or sell it and buy some other crap.

oil leaks eh? yeah, i would say that i have some experience on this issue... when i took the procharger off of my 95 GTS and went to put it on the 94 cobra, the front seal had busted somehow and when i fired up the engine, it threw oil everywhere... lol - hit the fricking sealing and all over the damned place... but i called ATI and got the part number, went to a local shop and got a replacement and have had no problems since.

the front seal is really the only place that i could see it leaking... and who knows, maybe the head unit got knocked around in the couple of months that it was sitting before i put it on my car.

boost is still awsome... :flag:

I use to run the P1sc @ 14psi without the intercooler. The one thing we noticed is the charge temps were quite a bit higher than an S-trim with out the intercooler to help out. I've heard the P1sc-2 will produce lower temps. I never had an issue with mine leaking and I bought it used and drove it for a few thousand miles before I sold it. I think I just read where they threw a P1sc on a 05 and were down in the high 9's with it.
