thats true...those npi cams are pretty much the worst....I have been planning on them for a while
I still think I can run 13.6...it might take the welds with slicks. I think I can get damn close to it either way.

I don't really see you cuttin off a 13.5/13.6 with a tire change unless you throw some SERIOUS abuse towards the car (which since you have an auto is going to be a bit harder to do unless you like neutral drops ). It's wishful thinking, but don't be too heartbroken when it doesn't happen

Even when I was running 14.700 with mufflers, my car was cutting 2.15-2.19 60's and that was with the 3.08 gears. Even with the automatic, it takes a little practice to get the best 60' out of the car. I have cheap tires on the rear though the car doesn't have ANY traction issues while at the track. With the power that you have currently in the car, with DRs, expect to cut a 2.05-2.1 since I don't think traction is your issue currently.

Lack of power owns us NPI guys

Traction Was somewhat of an issue in my opinion....I could do a lot better than 2.25

When I wasnt lowered, it was warmer out, I had 2 12s in a box over my back tires, and had less power I cut a 2.09 60 and ran 14.2 at 98 mph. 2.25 60 14.1 at 102. So just by looking at those numbers I would expect to run high 13s with a 2.0-2.1 60 foot.

I wish I would of kept the sub box in now that I think about it

Npi does suck the big one.

yea? put npi heads and cams on it and youll run 12s!

Thats real good for a stock auto...Im guessing you were running some decent rubber to cut a 2.0 60.

That 13 second stock run was from a PI car which is totally different

As for picking up the rims, you can't really go wrong, especially if you plan on modding the car even more.

That 13.87 with a 9.0 1/8 mile and a 2.01 60 ft were with original tires, air cleaner, exhaust. I was competing in the Mach1 showdown even this past summer. And whats really weird is after the showdown even that had 50 dollar dyno pulls , I only dynoed 233 hp and 250 tq . So dynoes arent really tied to your 1/4 times

I seriously think my car puts down a lot more than that....I trapped 102 and im faster from a roll than 5 speed pi gts

Well I was just throwing numbers out there, though I imagine you are likely in the 210 range which is quite a bit more than the numbers I threw out there.

The pi intake helps out a lot, though the LTs haven't been known to produce the biggest numbers on our cars.

102 IS pretty good, the best i could muster was a 100.5, and my 13.97 run was a 100.2 trap

Im not all that sure what my numbers would be...im more interested in the 1/4 mile numbers anyway... either way...a stock 5 speed pi is supposed to put about 230 to the ground from what I hear. I would estimate that I put atleast 230 to the ground considering a stock 5 speed would trap 98-100 and I trap 102 and I have beaten a stock 5 speed from a roll and killed him from a stop...I have gears.

I know npi engines suck but how else would you explain how my car performs?

Long tubes are the best bolt on as far as performance for our cars IMO.

Besides I have like every bolt on, Long tubes, PI intake and a 93 octane tune.

Only one way to tell--get the car dyno'd

Wouldn't hurt to check the a/f anyways.

I was cutting 2.05s all the time on street tire at the track and 1.97, 1.98 on MT ET Streets.
Best was 13.61 on MT, cat back, intake, 4.10, and 93 tune.

You will gain from skinnies du to less restriction.

Major improvment with MT ET to stop the wheel spin on the 1- 2 shift
