Does anyone have any experience with the liquid filled Auto Meter guages (Pro Comp series) in cold weather, cold weather meaning below freezing. I would like to get some, but am concerned that the liquid might freeze solid.

which liquid? gas should not, oil should not (some people fill the oil line to the gauge with a thin oil (like 0W-20) so that the tube does not have sludge in it).

coolant gauge is a capillary - no fluid in it.

what else?

I thought he meant the liquid filled faces. I'm not sure what they're filled with anymore. Are they still using glyceryn? If they are, I don't think you have to worry about freezing it. How much more are the liquid filled VS non-filled?

What's in the capillary tube of the temp guage?

It's ether gas...not some liquid as some people think. Therefore there is not hot coolant spraying all over in a head on collision lol.

It's obviously not coolant. Thanks It's been so long since I've been in gauge cal that I was confusing the capillary tube with something else that has nothing to do with instrumentation. Guess these things happen in the wee hours of the morning
