That's what I thought. The AutoMeter cluster is $200 more than the Simco one so I thought the AutoMeter cluster comes with a brand new electronic board.
Are the oil and voltage readout still dumbed out?
I mean, are they still always right in the middle or are they the actual read out of the probe? (Voltage and oil pressure should fluctuate with the revs, I hate the "I'm in the middle because everything is ok" look)

Unfortunately, yes. None of the electronics, computer, or sensor change with the Autometer cluster swap.
I had hoped that Autometer would have brought the 20 ohm resistor back out of the oil gauge mechanism so that one could do the old Ford make-functional fix. But, they left it internal to the gauge to be just like Ford.
