auto shifter question

i am probably going to be buying a 95 gt here pretty soon, working the deal on it right now actually with a friend, but i was curious what i would need to do if anything to install one of the 98+ style shifters with o/d button on the handle into one of these cars, with the o/d button on the console part ? i dont know if there are any differences or not, but was just curious if this is possible as i like that style shifter better (please dont flame me it is just a preference, not a necessity) .

i dont think you can change the handle by its self,i think you would need to swap the entire shifter asssembly,

You could always put a B&M in it too, they look sexy. I'll find a pic of mine in my car and post it up

thanks for the info, and yeah i was talking about the whole shifter assembly. i would assume it would bolt down and function mechanically, i just mainly wandered about the o/d being a plug and play or if i would need to cut and splice anything...

its just a momentary switch,even if the connectors are not the same,you cut them and replace them.
