Auto to Manual

assembly.jpg

Here are the pedal supports. The left is a stock unit from my automatic car. The right support is one modified by mustangsteve to accept a later model booster (a maverick or fox 2.3L I think). So this is clear, the unit on the right is not a stock manual pedal support. As for whether on not you can re-use the old auto pedal support, I'm not positive. I'd like to know too, although I probably should.

I also think that you can use the old brake pedal, just hack off half of the foot pad and have the rod pin moved. I had ordered a kit, so now I have a leftover brake pedal and support.

My Maverick auto pedal support looks exactly like the one on the right in the pic.
I used that support and mounted a Falcon clutch pedal to it using some of the Falcon spacers/bushings, so the auto support can be used as manual. The stuff slid right together. The only problem I had was the spacing on the manual tranny brake pedal would not swap to the auto support. I took the wide auto brake pedal and cut the long side off the pedal, then trimmed that piece to give me a curved end to put back on the side I cut off the main pedal. I welded that piece back on to create the same shape/size of the manual pedal, then used the rubber off the Falcon brake on the modded pedal.
The pics of the brake pedals show the pin placement for power and standard brakes I believe. The pedal on the right was off a manual brake car, while the one on the left has less leverage to work with power brakes. If you mix them up, you will either have manual brakes that you will have to stand on to get them to slow your car, or power brakes that will put you through the windshield if you tap the pedal.
Good luck
I know no one post is answering your questions, but maybe the group of answers and pics will allow you to piece it together. I think that this type of swap is always different person to person because of fabbing needed and different ideas in doing so.
Good luck
