Auto trans durability

I am getting ready to do some major mods to my 05 (port & polish heads, oversized titanium valves, custom grind cams) and I was wondering how much HP I can put through the stock auto trans? also what is a good replacement auto that will fit in this car that can handle 800+ hp?

Well at this point nobody knows for sure. Theres alot of specualtion of either 400 rwhp or even closer to 500 rwhp. Some of it will depend on the power adder and how the car is used or treated. I think the roots/whipple style blowers, and possibly nitrous will be harder on it because of the torque at low rpm's and the hit of nitrous, but thats my opinion. This was one of my reasons for going with a Centifugal, but I'm limiting power at the 450 rwhp mark no matter what with the stock motor. Heck it might not make that being a auto. If I was shooting for 800 hp I would look at a C4, powerglide or a 4r70w at this time. Just remember there was a day when the AOD could never hold any power and I personally made over 600 at the wheels and retained all the automatic functions except lock up Good luck.
