Auto Transmission Question - will this work?

I think I know the answer to my question, but I really don't know for sure. My son's automatic transmission is in dire need of a rebuild. I just located a 2003 Automatic with a great price. Will it fit into his 92 Convertible LX 5.0?

The auto in the 2003 is the 4R75W. This is a much newer, computer controlled auto that will not work with a fox 5.0.

I'd try to find a modified AOD with a shift kit and much looser stall converter than stock if you want to get any performance out of an auto with a 5.0.

It's been done but it's a pain to get control of the e-trans.

Thanks guys. I've found a shop here locally that advertises on EBay with rebuilt trannies for $600 - 700, including the torque converter. The are reportedly performance built with a shift kit, etc.
