Since I picked up my Fox....I've been thinking about doing some Auto-X with it starting in the spring.

The suspension is pretty much decked out to the max and my traction is limited to my tires. The engine is plenty powerful enough for this sort of thing too I'd think.

Does anyone Auto-X?

Any good resources or good ways of finding event near me? I live in the Cincinnati OH area.

Anything in particular I would need for most events? Helmet? Are roll cages required? Car used to have one but it was removed.

I have no clue about Auto-X but it interests me, so school me! :D

Thanks!

Check out Hot Rods Power Tour. You can learn from them and hang out with really cool people. Plus you could get your Fox in the mag! :nice:

If your gonna auto cross it I take my hat off too you. But be prepared to spend some money.

not really? he already has the suspension for it. he has the power. now its going to be getting the power to the ground. if they havent thrown away my hoosier road racing slicks at the shop yet doc you can have them. they have only 10-15 races on them.

I don't think I'd do it regularly, but maybe open events on occassion. Don't have the money to be breaking my car all the time or anything.

Tires would be the biggest expense.

Here's my mods so far on this thing....I think it would do well if I knew how to drive it! I'll check into some of the links, thanks guys.

92 LX, 306, 5spd, Black hatchback.

Full Holley Systemax kit, shorty headers, o/r prochamber, mac turndowns, crane ignition, and more....including one helluva lope!

F/R shock tower braces, F/R sway bars, panhard bar, torque arm, tubular K member, adjustable LCA's, FMS A-arms, K member brace, full length SFC's, HR race springs.

17" Cobra R rims, 245/45 tires

the first vid i posted we were on street tires. trust me. if i can do it. you can do it. you biggest problem is going to br traction coming out of the turns. most the time there in parking lots. and traction sucks. my stock Sc would blow the tires off coming out of a turn. your pretty much going to have to roll on into it. and you will basically be in 2nd gear the whole time. maybe 3rd if they have a long stright away. for a few seconds.

I'll check out the vids, couldn't at work.

On the streets I only tend to spin tires gassing it hard out of a turn....and even when I purposefully drop the clutch and spin them when starting off around a turn, with this suspension setup it stays almost perfectlly straight. I need to find a parking lot to really push things with this car because I know its capable of way more than I feel comfy with on the streets.
