I cannot get the Autolite 25 copper core spark plugs to thread into my P heads. But they thread just fine into the old stock heads.

I've read I need the 764 or 104 version. But the part number on the box just says 25.... How can I be sure I'm getting the right ones?

Ps... I'm getting them from autozone. No time to order from anywhere.

I have 765's in my gt40p's. I got them new and that was the recommendation then.
Btw, I was wrong about the 289 plugs
Hate it when I'm wrong!

How do you know they are 764, 764, 104, etc....? The box I have only says Autolite 25.

I don't see these parts numbers that are being referenced....?

The box will say Autolite 764.

The plugs for GT40P heads are different than the E7 heads. Just ask for codes for a 1993 Cobra, or a 97 or 98 Ford explorer 5.0. The motorcraft part number is SP413

I'd take motorcraft plugs over Autolite. They look the same, but are not the same. Ford parted ways with Autolite back in the 60's, and even though they had the same machines back then, they are totally independent these days.
