Autolite 3926's ???????

I called edelbrock for the part # for the exact plugs to use, they said motorcraft AGSP52's - alright, couldn't get them anywhere they are on national backorder - fine - i asked what the equivilant plug would be they said Autolite 3926, NOT the 24's, what is the deal? everyone on here told me 24's so i got those, i just ordered the 26's because EDELBROCK tech line told me 26's, could they be wrong? i am at a loss...

3925s are for stock replacement. I have a blower and use 3923 (2 heat ranges colder) and I have Performer RPM heads.

Why did they say 3926s?

i dont know that is what this thread is about, how certain are you that the 25's are stock replacement?

25's are stock.. i know for a fact.. if your not running boost or nitrous then dont go 24's or 23's.. i run 26's in all my cars.. then again im N/a kinda guy.. thats my 2 cents

just called again and got a diff guy, and 3926 is exactly right, he said that is DEF what i need!

i hope my car doesn't ping - we had stripped the thread n accidentally mashed the crap out of the gasket sooo - i'm thinkin that tapping pinging sound was my compression getting out through the spark plug, cuz the plug washer/gasket was like elongated n retarded - on top of crossed threads, i'm really hoping that was the reason - so i got a new dipstick tube (needed) and those new 26's, gonna hook it all back up n see how she runs, than have it tuned anyway!

Why do you run 26s in your car as opposed to the 25s?

Hotter plugs improve performance.. the more gas ya have the more heat you need.. it just helps it burn better.. REALLY helped my stocker car.. i'd run 26's without a care in the world.. havent ran into any problems with them yet

I just emailed Edelbrock the other day to ask the same question. They emailed me back with a spark plug application chart. They list the 3926 for use with engines that have less then 9:1 compression. For up to 10.5:1 compression, they list the 3924. So ultimately it depends on your combination.

Paul get the timing and fuel pressure situations under control and eliminate problems by process of elimination. Any of the above plugs will do just fine...there will be no change in performance with either plug.

i know, but the plugs changed SOMETHING, cuz it didn't ping before, n it does now - so i gotta set the timing - and i want to do it textbook perfect - cuz i have no idea where it's at - and the fuel pressure, i think i'll put on my stock unit just so i know where it's at - cuz i don't have a fp guage -

man when you get all worried or messed up on something you time like freakin crazy like lol as far as i know i've heard fuel pressure was suppose to be 39 but check with someone else first

stock regulator is about 39 which will be just about right for a general setting with the 24's. Untill you know what your timing is then you really have to attribute it to that...I could be WAY off either way and still seem to run correctly. Paul your running the same plug I run in my car..there should be not issue. Last time we set the timing by ear we were at 20 plus degrees initial...not optimal at all. It only takes literally 5 minutes and one wrench..could not be easier.

Just go rent one at AutoZone Paul, that way you don't have to go through the trouble of replacing your new regulator.

I switched regulators w/ the fuel rails off the car, it's prob hard to get those allens w/ it on the car!

also, the gap on one of the plugs we took out was closed entirely like it had been dropped and not rechecked for gap, or not set at all - could this cause my weird pinging problem? along w/ that crushed gasket one, this spark plug job was clearly done by amatures - jesus christ-
