You are an idiot, plain and simple. I hate when people look long and hard for things to call rice. The auto shifter is ugly, so why not clean it up and make it look better. Get a life, loser.

ummm, yeah but technically he is right...it is rice.

you're pretending to have a 5-speed, when you have an auto.

5spd = faster than auto.

therefor, you = pretending to be faster.

I'm not saying I woudn't do it if I had an auto, I agree it's an ugly stock shifter...but I wouldn't call GinoGT an idiot and loser...

I want to boot my auto simply because I'm tired of using a pipe cleaner to get the dust and crap out of that little gap around the outside of the bezel. What a PITA. A booted knob also looks better too. Oh yeah, the shifter is ugly too. Its not a "fake 5-speed". Its an auto with a boot!

Find me a shift kit for less than $20 (probable cost for me to make my own boot) and Ill spend my $20 on that instead.

Read that statement and tell me that isnt just a little over the edge. And don't assume those who buy the knob & boot want to pretend they have a 5-speed. Most of em (including me) just want to pretend they have a car that came with a decent looking shifter. Nothing more. Ideally what I would want is more of a leather sleeve type thing for the long-ass pole that the auto shift knob is mounted on. Im not trying for a "fake 5-speed" look, just a decent auto shifter look.

Oh yeah, I forgot about my Cobra wheels.
I guess I am also pretending to be a Cobra, when I have a GT.

Cobra = Faster than GT

Therefore, I = pretending to be faster.

I guess I should go back to the stock pony's. Id hate to be a ricer.

"Faster" is a subjective word. Not everyone that has a 5-speed is inherently faster than their automatic counterparts. For instance, you might suck ass with the 5-speed and will get killed by an auto since itll be IMPOSSIBLE to miss a gear. Also, not everyone that has an auto has a stock, slow car . Theres a reason some went with the auto.

I too have Cobra wheels and I take full pride in being a ricer.

Actually if you "downgrade", that puts you a notch above "the rest"...almost a sleeper effect.

you have a V8
you have a V6 bumper
V8 = faster than V6
therefor you = faster than what you look like.

Heres how I rank cars:

Ricer
Mustang
Mustang w/ a few apperance mods
Mustang w/ a few performance mods
Mustang w/ a lot of performance mods
Sleeper - many mods/downgraded appearance

Not everyone has a slow automatic. I could have done a 5 speed swap but I chose to have mine rebuilt to handle twice the power a T45 can hold. It's also nice when I throw down track times within mere hundreths of a second over a span of mabey 7 or 8 runs.

It takes a lot less work to an auto than most people think to make them fast. Hell, my shift kit and (at the time) 3.73's gave me .35 seconds.

I think that's the general consensus and the ONLY reason this product is in development. I find it hard to believe that some of you are looking at this and saying that it's rice. The product is not rice, the person who buys it for the wrong reason (I.E. to try and play off the fact that they have an auto) is rice.

Honestly, can any of you see the R&D team at MGW at the drawing board saying "Hey lets design an auto shift knob that guys can put in their cars to make them think they have a 5 speed." I can't.

Also, 01'TRUE BLUE GT, some folks (including myself) got an auto because it was the right product at the right price. I found my car in mint condition with 20K miles on it, a comprehensive maintenence book for the past 3 years the car was around and a 50 year old lady behind the wheel for $9500. Who wouldn't jump on that deal?

I'm going to buy one of these with the boot for the simple fact that the thing looks DAMN good. And yes it will compliment the shift kit and level 10 stuff. You guys shouldn't go so hard on each other for this kinda stuff. Rice has become very subjective over the past few years and people are throwing the word around waaay too much.

Sorry, I find a way to call everything rice.

Lets put it this way, if being a domestic/rice hatting fool was the same as being "racist", I would consider myself atleast a high-ranking national KKK leader. And the mod you are trying to perform right now, is equivalent to lowering your pants, an inch below your waiste. I would call you a, you-know-what, and have you hanged.

I dont know, I wouldnt really like to own a sleeper Mustang. Then id have the same "boring" looking car everyone has. Im more into aesthetics than anything. Something to make it stand out and not clash in, even if it is faster. Thats just me i guess.

Also, if i put V6 body parts on an 03 Cobra, am i above "the rest"? The idea seems kinda silly to me.

Yep, transferring 03 cobra to a v6 is definitely above the rest.

C'mon, it's the old muscle car mentallity.

Can't you see the look on the vette owners face, when you rev him at the light, he noticed your V6 badges, decides to waste you...yet you are still at his door at 110mph...

I think we can do without the racial metaphors (sp?). I don't consider my automatic especially slow. I wouldn't trade it for many 5 speeds I've ever seen either. Just get whatever shifter or shifter knob that makes you happy. Who cares what anyone else thinks?

I also revised what I said. Making an auto look like a manual then pretending it's a manual would really be rice. Read a little more carefully, idiot.
