Autometer Boost gauge Accuracy?

Hey all just installed a autometer lunar boost/vac gauge. I'm curious to how accurate these are. I have the 1.7 9psi kb, and when I'm on it, it's reading dead nust 9psi. I thought that for the most part the kb's didn't put out what they stated, like usually 7psi when yor running the 9psi pulley? Curious because I was going to jump up to the 11 psi pulley to try and get the remainder 30 horses I cna make without destroying the bottom end. What's everyone else's experience with this gauge on a KB. Thanks

it depends on your mods. if you add a free flowing exhaust or cams or anything that helps the engine breathe better, it may cause less boost even tho you are making more power. what they call a 9lb pulley means 9psi on an otherwise stock car.

So does that mean that if the gauge reads 7psi with a 9psi pulley that the engine is at 7psi. And in that case can you use a smaller pulley to achieve 9psi.
