I just installed autometer gauges and with the A/F gauge you have to dim the dash lights slightly for the LED's to work. If the lights are off it works fine. But when you turn the lights on you have to turn the light knob a 1/4 to see any LED's. Also the gauge illuminates just fine and I have it wired into the Dimmer fuse. Is this normal?
I installed an Autometer trans temp gauge on my 03 GT, and for lighting I taped the brown wire at the light switch. This wire is hot when lights are in turned on to the parking light position. I have not had any light issues doing it this way.
