Hey guys...any tips on where to set my shift points? I'm using an SCT Tune to reflash for the 4.10's. I think it might take me a while to find out exactly where I want my shift points to be. Anyone with an auto using an SCT tune who's set their own shift points know the graph I'm talking about. Anybody have any advice for me or if you have an auto with 4.10s in it and can get a screenshot for me of what your transmission shift points look like I'll be forever in your debt haha. Thanks

Both and do the downshift and converter lockup points need to be changed as well?

Is this actually easier if I give it to a tuner to do?

at WOT my shift point is at 5000 and the rev limit is 5900 with my 3.73's

but that's on my 1-2 shift

2-3 is at 5200

WOT shift points are easy. set them really low, like 4000rpm, test is out, then adjust accordingly. it will take about 1000rpm from the time you command a shift for the trans to actually shift.

as far as part throttle shift points they are a little trickier because they depend on throttle position. and i wouldn't mess with the torque convertor lock ups. they can be very tricky. have a pro do it.

Auto and 4.10s here!

My WOT shift points were track tested. I ended up with 5650 on the 1-2 and 5600 on the 2-3. Those are just about the point where the nose of the car starts to drop. My part throttle shift points were set by a custom tuner but I have constantly provided inputs on when it seems to shift early or late.

Your best bet is to raise the upshift and downshift points together. If you just raise the upshift and it meets the downshift point, it will get all jacked up. The EEC will bounce back and forth on commanding an up and down shift. Work your changes little by little. Start with the 1-2 and 2-1. Bump up the lower end by maybe 3-4 mph. Bump up the midrange by maybe 2-3 mph. Leave the high end alone because that start approaching the WOT shifts. Those are tied together indirectly. Drive around for 2-3 weeks. Pay attention to when it upshifts and when it downshifts. Fine tune it from there. It's all about how it feels for you.

Converter lock/unlock is for later, when you're more comfortable doing this stuff.
