OK. So, I couldn't wait to install my new Borla Stingers since they arrived today and it was decent weather. So, although I didn't have another pair of hands to help, I was told I could do it myself in 20 minutes. I called an installer and he said it was easy and that he would charge $80 for installation. So, I decided to go it alone.

When I removed the hanger brackets and put them on the Borla mounting rods, everything went fine. A few of the factory bolts were hard to reach but I managed. I had trouble getting the pipes to seal up but I just torqued down hard on the clamps and got it tight. However, the tip coming out of one side is very close to the side of the cutout in the rear spoiler and is almost touching. The other side is almost perfectly centered. How can I adjust the position of the one that is not centered? Do I need to remove the entire thing and start over again? Is it common to have to bend the mounting rods to get the tips in the centered position? I certainly do not want to have to bend the rods if not necessary. Needless to say, this whole installation took a few hours and I am still not happy with the alignment. Please help!

By the way, I am sure this issue must come up with other manufacturers of mufflers, so don't hesitate to chime in if you think you can provide some good advice. Thanks!

get creative, that way you dont have to remove the mufflers. you might also be able to loosen the clamp at the inlet and adjust it that way. just be sure to check the fit before you tighten it down all the way next time. good luck.

I followed the instructions and didn't tighten the clamp until everything seemed lined up. I will see what I can do tomorrow and try to get it lined up. Man! This really sucks!

when i got my second set of flowmasters (long story, dealership messed up first set), the rods were bent. i just eyeballed them and installed them. i was able to adjust it fine. it is just going to take trial and error....

Thanks for the advice. I believe I was becoming frustrated due to the time it took to get everything installed. I will try to start fresh to see how it goes. Hopefully, everything will work out better today. :nice:
