I was looking at getting Pypes Violator's or even thinking about Flowtech Terminator's. The rest of my exhaust is stock to keep in mine. Im looking for a deeper throatier sound but not to much drone in the cabin. As you can see from these two axle back's they compare on the price. Im not looking to pay a ridiculous $400 plus on mufflers. I dont crap money you know. Any thoughts. Thanks!

I just put in the pypes off road h-pipe with stock mufflers and it sounds really good. You might want to consider this if money is a big consideration since this only cost me $169 with free shippping. At idle it's only slightly louder but it sounds great when you mash it.

check out flowmaster 40 series, they are not that expensive and have an nice rumble with factory cats. im not sure where you live but if emissions testing is not a concern i would definitely go w/ an off road x/h pipe.

I have the Flows/Pypes O/R H combo. A couple of days ago my passenger muffler started "buzzing". I checked it out and I could not get it to stop so I figured it was coming from inside the muffler. I took it to the shop that installed them and they confirmed it was a bad baffle inside. Flowmaster is shipping a new muffler at no cost later this week. I swapped the Flows this afternoon for the stock mufflers. I can agree with MikeysOTP on being a bit quieter at idle and revving. I have yet to drive it yet to get the true sound. That will happen tomorrow. Here is a video clip of the "buzz" and then after the swap with the stockers on.

:( that buzz is horrible. glad flowmaster is taking care of the problem! :nice: i have had my flows since they were released (Apr 05), and no problems yet.

It was mega embarrassing!!!!! I was wondering how many ricers were :rlaugh: at me as I drove by with that awful sound following me... I could easily drown it out on the inside with the Shaker1000, but EVERYBODY outside could still hear it.

What about Motoblue? They advertise their RS muffler as an alternative to the Stingers and, on sale at $150 shipped, I'm very tempted to give them a try. There are two clips on Youtube that sound pretty nice but that's about all I can find on them. The only old thread on here that I found dealt more with the SS

I did notice that they recommend them for medium to highly modified mustangs....wonder why that is? The clips on youtube are both stock and sound pretty sweet so maybe an issue with backpressure?

I'm also considering the Pypes violators but I'm having a hard time getting a really concrete idea of how they sound.

I have the Flowmaster American thunder's on my stang (rest of exhaust is stock) and they sound fantastic. Nice deep rumble and tone yet on the highway in 5th gear they are quite as a mouse (literally, you hear the road noise more than the exhaust). I could not be happier with the Flowmasters.

Now I just need to pony up and get the Pypes OR H-Pipe.

/just my 2 cents.
