The axle dampeners on my stang wear out every year or so and rub against the vertical shocks on my rear axle while squeeking like crazy. I've put the Monroe shocks on it b/c that's all I can find and they're also under warranty

I've heard of people taking them off but it seems like they'd be there for a reason! I've recently (again) put on new control arms with poly bushings so it is solid without them.

Any ideas on a good manufacturer of them or PM a place to buy them?

Autozone sells Gabriel replacements for $25. They are listen under steering dampeners

Don't eliminate the quads, they are there for a reason...even with aftermarket control arms.

If they rub the verticle shocks, flip them around

they are there for wheel hop but my 82 Capri with a 88, 8.8 rear axle never has wheel hop and I dont even use the quads. I have upper and lower Factory 5 control arms. The car Launches hard however it will break loose the 245 goodyear rubber I have currently. BTW the axle came from a 88 Turbo T-Bird coupe with 3.73s and disk brakes. You do need them if you are going to retain the stock setup, the stock control arms allow the axle to wind up with the soft rubber bushings with good quality control arms this problem goes away. My biggest issue now is to get the dame Capri hooked up! LOL 2.2 60 ft times suck! LOL

theres a false assumption on many internet forums with people that keep quoting things they read.. do not under any condition remove the quad shocks permanantly...regardless of Control arms.
Autozone Gabriels are suppose to be ok. you can get 2 of those for less than the price of a single KYB i think. The KYBs are nice, but you have to use a spacer to install it..i dont want to do that because i'm afraid it will rub on the 18x10s i'll be getting some day. I also don't like using spacers for that sort of thing. Koni = #1 replacement Quad shock..you can tell just by looking at it. but 200 dollars is way too much 4 it
