Heat will help, but it's not guaranteed. Depending on how long those two pieces of metal have been together will play a factor. Heat and penetrate fluid should help, but at some point, it may just be easier to take it to a Pro. I just replaced my axleback Borla S with the Touring, and someone had placed a tiny tack weld on each pipe, so I also had to grind off the tack weld, and then the pipe would slide off. But I would bet the pipes weren't more than 5+- years old.

*** I wouldn't use a torch. They make extremely hot heat guns that will do the job without an open flame near the gas tank.

Be very generous with the penetrating oil and let it sit overnight. The remember, that once the axle back get warm, all that oil will burn off and stink to high heaven
