'B' Spring Install?

Going to put 'B' springs and weight jackers on the '90 Coupe to bring it down a hair. Curious whether I'll need to get a compressor for the fronts???

I know C's are an easy install ... but since B's are progressive I'm guessing they will be longer and might require more?

How much did they actually drop yours? ... Real world vs advertised.

I already searched, but didn't find the answers.

I haven't done a spring install (yet)

For the fronts, you can wrap a chain around the spring and then lower the control arm with a jack to get the stockers out. Putting the 'B' springs in should be just the reverse of that.

Hmm, I don't think I have a chain in the the garage

I want to do it within the next couple of days and want to avoid a trip to the auto parts store if I can

You don't need to use a chain, Any tie down will suffice (Minimun 500lb break strenght though)

I have B springs on my 'vert. I had some Eibachs on it before that had it pretty low and the Bs didn't even raise it, even with the poly isolators on the springs. I attribute the drastic drop of the Bs on my car vs. other fox bodystyles to the heavyness of my car and the softness of the front spring.

Look at the pic in my gallery next to the red hatch. That's when my car had the Eibachs on it. There is no noticable difference in ride height.

Looks good .. even if the notch doesn't drop that low, it will be is fine .. it's in 4x4 territory now ...

Did you need a compressor to install your B's?

Also the springs are soft because they are the same rate as the factory springs.

I installed B springs, the backs are pretty simple, the fronts are a bitch. I would use a compressor.

i had to use one of those coil spring comressors that could fit through the hole in the A-arm...it was a bitch tho...I got the compressor at Pep Boys.
I have heard it is waay easier to undo the bolts on the back of the A arm and lower it down with a jack, after you put some comressor on the spring that is.
