On a 99 cobra, can you run no cats without affecting the motor performance due to lack of backpressure? Or if you knocked out the guts of the stock pipe will this cause any problems? My concerns are with the backpressure and messing with the computer O2 sensor readings. Any input?

O/R pipes have proven that they make more power than a catted pipe...catted pipes aren't far behind anymore though because cat technology has gotten them to flow very well and you'll only lose a few hp with them installed...And as long as you have MILeliminators installed on the rear O2 sensors the computer will never know the cats are gone...

That's just asking for problems doing that though...it's easier to get an O/R pipe and keep the stock one and swap it back and forth every 2 years...

ya its a lot easier to just get a O/R pipe and swap it every 2 years. i know whats what i tell people in CA that insist on having a different midpipe considering that non of the catted midpipes are legal.
