my car came with flowmaster 40 when i bought it, and then i had a junky exhaust.

soon before i tore my engine out, i bought nice exhaust parts. a nice set of headers and h pipe, and put turndowns on my flowmasters and it sounded GOOD.

when i put my new engine in i put some dynomax bullets on, i like the sound, but lately its just too LOUD and has no real tone to them. sounds like an old farm truck at idle and low rpm

i was thinking of changing back to flowmasters because i liked how they sounded, i hate too, since flows are everywhere but they sound nice you cant deny that.

or i thought about throwing some turndowns on the bullets to quiet to down some but i doubt it would do much

got any other suggestions for a good sounding muffler, i reall am leaning towards a chambered muffler that has a tone to it, not a resonator style like bullets or other loud stuff.

I LOVE my Magnaflows, they are dumped with an O/R H-Pipe and are quiet below 2,500 RPM with absolutely NO drone...then once you get on it above 2,500 they scream! They are not abnoxiously loud and sound really nice, I will never put another set of mufflers on my car.

if you want to quiet it down, put on some tail pipes....that'll make it a lot quieter, but won't change the tone necessarily.

I like the flows, but some day I might try something different, who knows. If you haven't visited www.MustangExhaust.com, go there and check them out. The only thing is I don't think it lists if it's dumped or with tailpipes, etc.

i put tails on my bullets for a awhile, but still wasnt happy with them! did quite them down alot and changed the sound alot!

so i went back to flowmaster! but still am not happy

i will try macs or spintech prostreets next

a friend of mine has the slp for his 90 lx sounds like garbage to me, when he downshifts the exhaust crackles and pops which i like but sounds like complete noise when he floors it.

i may just stick with bullets, i realized they arent so bad after all.

i went to the drag strip yesterday and saw alot of mustang with flows on them sounded nice but the ones that had a cam, you really couldnt hear the cam well and the whole car just sounded muffled bad lol.

with the bullets the cam sounds meaner and when your flooring it it wants to scream i never hear it as much since i dont really hot rod it around town much

i will try some turndowns i can get them for cheap and weld them on myself. i will see if it changes it or tames the sound a bit.

also would going from a shorty headers to a nice long tube change the sound?
