Well I was in need of change. Bought a new set of Bf g tires for my older 15 inch torque Thrust Ds. These replaced my 16 version. Anyways my fastback looks a whole lot better. The 15 wheels look right at home and the ride, so much better. Less effort turning the wheel, and did i mention the ride.

My message to all 65-6 drivers, lose the big hoops, go vintage.

ps-225 50 16 (BF g something) to 225 50 15 (BF g g-force sport)

NEVER GOING BACK TO SMALL WHEELS.........NEVER!!!!!

i have no issues with ride and my turning effort is pretty light. As far as looks........thats it the eye of the owner.I tried ,my old wheels and they made me laugh.

I prefer the look of the more period correct 14/15 inch wheel and tire combo's. That having been said, I have 17's on my 68 off of a newer mustang. They are growing on me. Slowly...

I see a lotta big hoops on cars around here, and laugh. Betcha some of these cars go through 2-4 tires and wheels a year due to potholes.

I have 15's on my car too. I think the big hoops on the front make the car look like its 4wd. JMO.

Hate all you want!
I enjoy the benefits of the 13" rotors and PBR's under my 17's plusI get to run ultra performance Eagle F-1's. Ride quality is awesome taking the on ramps

besides, 12 inch rotors fit my 15's. and stopping was never a problem. thanks everyone for the replies. i am sure that big hoops vs. 15 wheels will be a pretty even argument anyways. keep the replies coming.

its no so much a argument, just a preference. I have seem some cars just look right with some 15" magnums and fat tires all dropped..........but still not my cup of tea. Now if i build another one for actual driving, i might go that route.

i drive it and race it, pretty hard some times. but that has been on my 16's. i will give it a whrill with the 15's soon enough. but i am pretty sure one tire size down will not change the cars track behavior. beside its a lighter car now. i should see better times.

Thats fantastic. I'm glad to see someone else likes the classic look. I have 15x7 Magnum 500 with BFG Radial TA and absolutely will not have it any other way. The 16s you had before probably looked just fine though. I think anything bigger than that is too big and that anything bigger than 17 is just rediculous.

If you get time please do post some pics. I was going to put 15" Radial T/As on mine and was planning on going with 60s but I'm open to change if I think the 50s look better. My Cragars are due in tomorrow and they'll need tires.

I just swap between the two. I have a set of 17" Bullitts that came off my 04 GT that I put on my 68 sometimes, but usually I have 15" Pro Stars.

I have to agree that IMO 18" rims or larger just look ridiculous on a 65-68 car. Depending on the wheel and the stance, they sometimes look OK on a 69-73. Having said that, I run 17 x 8s up front and 17 x 9s out back because they're functional.

Sometimes I think they look out of proportion, and sometimes I think they look way cool. But they're there because the 13" brakes won't clear a 15" wheel, and the stiffer sidewall is part of what makes the car ride like it's on rails.

I have been looking at 16 x 9 wheels, and the available choices are incredibly limited. Even worse for tires. I can fit a 17 x 9 wheel and a P275 tire up front with my suspension, and there are hundreds of styles of wheels to choose from (many cheap), and dozens of tires to choose from. So as much as I'd like the look of a 16" wheel, it probably won't happen because there just isn't a good selection of wheels and tires available.

I would never consider going back to 15s.

they are 225 50 15 BF G g-force sport. nice riding tires. would recommend them to anyone and they are 100.00 a piece.
