I got more parts in. The front break rotor and pads. I painted my rotors and the callipers. I also cleaned my bearings and used new seals. It will have to do for now. I wanted to upgrade the callipers to SVO ones with stainless steel hoses. It will have to wait. I already spent a lot of money this spring. I still need to change my windshield.

Been a while since she has touch the ground. Its nice to see her sitting on all four. Just needs wheel alignment and weld in subframe connectors. Then she is ready for this season. Can't wait, it will be like a new car.

While I was putting the front breaks together, I was looking at the front frame rails. I think next summer I will have to work on them. They are getting worse. I wanted to do them when I pull the motor. Think I might have to do them first.

The driver side.

The passenger side is not as bad on the outside but inside the engine compartment its starting.

Ideally, you should take those brake rotors to a place that can turn them to remove the paint from the contact surface. I don't think you'll want that paint there when the rotors and pads are trying to bed in.

I've done it before. Just drag the breaks a little for a few seconds and the paint is all clean. Then go do a few hard break stops to heat up the rotors and pads then good to go.

I'm not sure about that buddy, I agree with 281, you don't want to drag brand new pads and rotors, especially with painted rotors. There are specific bedding procedures with those.

I would just take a rag and some paint thinner and get "most" of the paint off the pad surface area. What the other guys are saying is that idealy you dont want the paint absorbing into your pads and reducing their effectiveness. Yes, they will still work, as you know from previous experience, but they will be better without the paint while bedding in.
