Backfire???

Ive noticed that my car has started to backfire when I step on it hard and shift at high RPM's, mostly happens when I shift into 4th and Step on it...anyone know what coudl be causing this? and is it safe?

Check for water in the heads where the plugs go. Very common problem. How long since you changed your plugs and wires?

use 94 octane, plugs and wires are good, backfire no check engine light???

Backfire can be caused by not enough back pressure in your exhaust. It also can be caused by running rich. Popping sounds are signs of being lean. What exhaust do you have?

Have you tried cleaning your MAF sensor?

prochamber and flowmaster mufflers and I just got it tuned and the A/F is at 11.7 so its not lean...

backfire through intake-usually lean,backfire out exhaust(under load)secondary ignition(coil,plugs,wires)
