I always thought it ment to tub the rear so you could stick in huge tires. Backhalfing to me ment, to redo the back half of the car with largers wheel wells.

This is more correct

You would be adding a new rear frame portion, or a true 4 link, and or ladder bar, tubs, etc...

Last time I heard the term "Back halving a car" meant that someone got rear ended, and the fix was to cut the back half off and weld on the back half cut from a donor car. Nasty business, as it would do bad stuff to the structural integrity of the car. It is probably illegal to do in some states. I wouldn’t want to drive a car that had been “back halved”.

I back-halved my wife on accident one time. And let me tell you she was not pleased. Cant remember much but something about me being next and then all is dark. *sucks thumb*
