Ever since I got my mustang "rite" so I could drive it, I've noticed the clutch pedal feels like junk going into 1st and 2nd gear. Then today as I was pulling into the garage which is uphill so its pita with the way the clutch pedal feels, I went to drive it in and as I was doing so the drive train jerked a bit like i just dropped the clutch real quick and I couldn't get the car out of first gear easily. Any body think this is a clutch cable issue?

I left some details out. When the drive train jerked i was engaging the clutch. When I couldn't get the car out of first gear I had to press the clutch in twice to get it to come out. Also it can be a pita to get the car in first or reverse after starting it up, I have to keep using the auto adjuster on the clutch to finaly get it set rite so I can get going
It's probably either the quadrant and pawl mesh is slipping, or the cable is letting go.
I would replace the quadrant with an aftermarket piece no matter what (you'll need a FWA too). Consider replacing the cable. If yours is actually ok, you have it as a spare if needed in the future. If it's not ok, you'd have to replace it anyhow.
I've lost a few clutch cables and every time, I initially got a loud pop and the pedal got soft with lots of freeplay. I would adjust the freeplay out and limp it home. The cable would keep fraying every time I used the clutch.
