Alright I pulled my wiring harness ,traced every wire, and repaired all problems.
I put it back in yesterday and it still doesn't run right. Still missing here and there. So i set the timing to 14* and then to 10* no help. So i decided to check the timing with the spout in just to see what it was doing. The line was jumping back and forth and some times the (when it was bogging) the timing light wouldn't even flash.

The missing pulses say that your ignition isn't working right. Please give us a recap on what you have done in the ignition area.

its all stock replacement. but i have put a new tfi on it a new distributor new coil new wires new plugs new cap and button. it doesn't miss the pulses when the spout connector is out. on trickflows website it says i need to modify my mass air for my cam. what does that mean? and would that cause these problems?

i check the spout connector it shows a direct short. also put dielectric grease on it just in case. the computer wont run self test. fuel pump just primes twice then clicks a couple of times then nothing

Before you can chase the current rabbit, you need to fix the no computer codes problem. Dumping the codes would provide a great deal of useful information.

yeah i know, im thinking though that with the combination of the no codes and the current problem that i might have a fried computer. i am going to go throught the no codes checklist from the ford fuel injection website probably sunday, or when i can get my hands on a digital multimeter. no codes is the reason i pulled the harness and checked everything. is there an aftermarket ignitions system that lets you set the timing advance without the computer messing with it?

Definetely have a problem there...check VREF (5vdc) at the TPS connector with TPS disconnected to the SIGRTN wire/pin, Key On Engine Off. If you need to id the wires, use one of these diagrams. If you don't get 4.85vdc minimum, check VREF to a good ground and LUK.
