hey,
so i get in my 91 5.0 this morning and i have a vibration between 1000-1700 rpm. removed belt still there. i have a tiny tap but i think its exaust. balancer is wobbling a little. would that give me a defined vibe in the steering wheel? or did i kill another tranny?it does it in neutral, drive or park.

Im sure it could be the trans but ive never heard of one wobbling like that. The balancer isnt supposed to wobble though, the balancer is probably shot, is it during acceleration or deceleration? Im interested b.c i have a weird problem like this too

It's most likely the balancer, fix it NOW and don't drive it, or your engine can land up being a pile of scrap metal.

Is the balance wobbling like its bent or just moving in and out, if it bent then its the balancer if it goes in and out while its running its the thrust bearings, 351W's always seem to do this. Im sure its the balancer though. But no matter what replace it right away

It may not be truely wobbling, it may be an illusion, probably just the rubber seperating.

hey all
changed the balance, went ford racing and all is good. it must have been going bad for a week or two. that would explain how shes been running recently. took a nissan 350 cold today so.........
