i have been all over my car looking to fix my problem. it is mainly two things.
1. driving along at consistant rpm, always 1500ish. in fourth gear is where i notice it the most. ill be going along, rock steady throttle/rpm, and its like the engine cuts out real quick. it gets worse and more often once it starts unless you go up higher rpm or lower. then when you return, it starts shortly after again.
2. i dont have any power. it rev's ok part of the powerband, then its like it hits a barrier and slows down. rev's slow, doesnt pull as hard.
i pulled my codes, and i just get ones from my smog pump ( which is disconnected so self-explanitory), and one from my secondary fuel pump circuit failure?
would a faulty fuel pump or relay, combined with a dirty tank potentially cause this performance loss? i am counting a dirty tank since i change my fuel filter and then 2 weeks later or less the cutting out appears again, and goes away again with a new one. the revving issue seems like it might not be delivering fuel in the higher rpm's.
need any opinions on this. my fp is set to 38 with no vac. plugs, plug wires, vss, tps volt, tb, maf, airfilter, vac lines have all been checked/cleaned/searched.
